Happy to share that I have recently joined the Civic Interaction Design Research Group at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences as lead researcher of Transition-Scapes. A new two-year research project on interactive exhibition formats that depict future scenarios on the (energy) transition. In Transition-Scapes, interactive exhibition forms are being explored with which future scenarios about the energy transition can be visualized. The goal is to make the implications of the transition understandable and discussable at the level of residents. It is a project close to my heart. It combines my many years of exhibition making with a more recent focus on the energy transition, and data and the smart society. We will work on Transition-Scapes with a great team including Martijn de Waal, Cristina Ampatzidou and Jorgen Karskens. And with an inspiring consortium of partners including: AUAS – Spatial Urban Transformation Research Group, Universiteit van Amsterdam, Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving, TU Delft,International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam, Arcam, Het Nieuwe Instituut, UNStudio, Bright, One Architecture, Generation.Energy, Clever Franke, Tellart, Shosho, Gemeente Amsterdam, Alliander, &Flux, Arcadis/Over Morgen and Play the City.
